Doctrine of Scripture
We believe that the Bible, composed of the 66 books of the Old and New Testament, is the revealed, verbally inspired, complete Word of God. We believe that the entirety of Scripture originated with God, is infallible and without error in the original manuscripts. They are the unique and final authority on all matters of faith and practice, and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.
(Ps. 19:7-11; Is. 8:20; 1 Thess, 5:21; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Ptr. 1:20-21)
Doctrine of Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in loving unity of
three equally divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; whom perform distinct,
yet harmonious functions in creation and redemption for His own glory.
(Gen. 1:1-2; Ex. 15:11; Deut. 6:4; Ps. 83:18; Mt. 28:19-20; Jn. 10:30; Acts 1:7-8; Eph. 2:17-22; Heb. 11:3)
Doctrine of God the Father
We believe God the Father is infinite and sovereign; holy and righteous; merciful and just.
He holds all power, knows all things, and is omnipresent. He is both majestic and personal.
(Ex. 3:13-14; Is. 6:1-3; Ps. 90:1-2, 103:8-19; Dan. 2:20-23, 4:34-35; Mt. 6:9-10; Jn. 4:24; Eph. 1:3-11)
Doctrine of God the Son
We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, fully God and fully human.
We believe that He was miraculously conceived without sin by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin.
Jesus lived a sinless life of perfect obedience in submission to the Father by the power of the Holy Spirit.
He suffered, died on the cross, was buried and arose bodily on the third day in fulfillment of the Scriptures. He has ascended as King to rule from God's right hand, interceding for His people until the day of His return.
(Lk. 1:30-35; Jn. 1:1-2, 10:30-33, 17:4-5; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Phil. 2:5-11; Col. 1:15-20; Heb. 1:3, 2:18, 4:15; 1 Jn. 2:1-2)
Doctrine of God the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the promised Counselor whose purpose is to reveal and glorify Jesus.
He convicts the world of sin, awakens the sinner's heart to Christ, illuminates Scripture, sanctifies disciples, and empowers the church. He indwells disciples at conversion, sustains perseverance,
and secures eternal inheritance.
(Ezek. 36:26-27; Mt. 12:28; Jn. 3:1-8, 16:7-15; Acts 1:8, 2:33-39, 13:2-4; Rom. 8:1-17, 26-27; Eph. 1:11-14, 5:18; 1 Cor. 12:4-7; 2 Thess. 2:13; Titus 3:5)
Doctrine of Sin
We believe that human beings are created by God in the image of God for the glory of God.
Originally created apart from sin, Adam and Eve rebelled against God incurring the penalty of their disobedience; physical, spiritual and eternal death. In union with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, separated from God,
and deserving of His wrath.
(Gen. 1:26, 3:6; Is. 43:7; Ps. 8:3-9; Mt. 25:41-46; Jn. 8:34; Rom. 1:18, 21, 2:1-5, 3:10-20, 5:12-14; 1 Cor. 2:14; Eph. 2:1-3)
Doctrine of Salvation
We believe the salvation of mankind is wholly a work of God's free grace.
We believe God's loving, eternal plan was for Christ to shed his blood on the cross as the perfect sacrifice
for sin. This atonement satisfies God's wrath and provides forgiveness for the sin of His people.
Through his resurrection, the power of sin and death is defeated. His substitutionary death and victorious resurrection are the only means for salvation. We believe that God is the initiator of this saving work, exposing the depth of human depravity and revealing the glory of Christ. God calls people to repent from sin and place their faith in Christ, as Savior and Lord. This salvation is not the result, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness. We believe that God's saving grace continues to conform the disciple into the image of Jesus Christ through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. The natural outworking of salvation is the pursuit of holiness and obedience to God in the power of the Spirit. This Spirit-empowered life is marked by love for God and love of others. God's salvation culminates in the glorification of His people.
(Is. 53:4-5; Jn. 3:16, 14:6, 15; Acts 4:10-12; Rom. 3:21-625, 4:16, 5:1-8, 18-19, 6:5-6, 8:29-30, 9:14-18, 10:9-10, 11:6; Eph. 1:1-14, 2:4-10; Phil. 2:14-16; 1 Cor. 15:48-53; 1 Tim. 1:15-16; Heb. 7:25, 9:11-12, 10:12-14; 1 Ptr. 1:14-16)
Doctrine of the Church
We believe that there is one true Church, comprised of all those who repent from sin and place their faith in Christ as Savior and Lord. Jesus Christ is the head of His body, the Church, united in the Holy Spirit.
The church exists to glorify Christ by fulfilling His commission to make disciples of all nations.
Christ has instructed disciples to gather in local assemblies as an expression of His global church.
We believe that Christ has appointed elders to shepherd His church through leading, teaching, caring, and protecting. Deacons are chosen to serve the body's practical and ministerial needs under the oversight of the elders. The Holy Spirit has apportioned gifts to each disciple to be used for the building up of the body. Every member is called to walk together in loving unity, sacrificial relationship, and shared responsibility.
We believe Christ has established two ordinances for His church: baptism and the Lord's Supper (communion). Baptism by immersion is a disciple's act of obedience and public identification with Christ in His death and resurrection. The Lord's Supper is a remembrance of Christ's work on the cross in securing the New Covenant and the hope of His promised return. Neither ordinance is a mean of salvation, but rather, visible and tangible representations of the gospel.
(Mt. 28:18-20; Jn. 13:34-35; Acts 6:1-7, 14:23, 20:28; Rom. 6:1-4; 1 Cor. 11:23-30, 12:4-7; Eph. 2:19-22, 4:11-16; Col. 1:18; 1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2:1-2; Titus 1:5; Heb. 10:24-25, 13:17; 1 Ptr. 5:1-4)
Doctrine of Christ's Return
We believe Jesus Christ will fulfill His promise and physically return as King over all nations at a time known only to God. He will raise the dead and judge the world; condemning the unsaved to conscious, eternal punishment in hell, and blessing the saved with the reward of eternal life in His presence. God will restore His glory in creation by establishing the new heavens and the new earth where righteousness dwells.
(Ps. 2:4-9; Mt. 24:29-31, 25:31-33; Acts 1:10-11, 17:30-31; Rom. 8:18-21; 1 Thess. 4:14-18; 2 Thess. 1:5-10; Titus 2:11-13; 2 Ptr. 3:10-13; Rev. 1:5-8, 19:11-21, 20:11-15, 21:1-8, 21: 22-27, 22:12-13)
